Born in 1993 in Lucerne, began his music career as a singer in the Luzerner Kantorei, before becoming a young student in Prof. Kurt Meiers oboe class at the Lucerne Music University at the age of 14.
Later he studied with Prof. Simon Fuchs (principal oboe of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich) and Prof. Martin Frutiger at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), as well as Prof. Dominik Wollenweber in Berlin and with Prof. Jean Louis Capezzali at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne.
Salomo Schweizer has won numerous awards at international competitions, including the 1 st prize at the oboe competition "Luca Figaroli" in Adara San Martini (IT) in 2012, the special award “cor anglaise” at the “the muri competition” in 2016 and the yearly price of the foundation “Junge Musiktalente” in Meggen (CH), supporting his artistic development in 2017/18.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Staatsorchester Hamburg, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Opera Berlin, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Hanover State Opera, the Chamber Orchestra of Munich and the Festival Strings Lucerne.
After a year as principal oboist in the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Salomo Schweizer joined the Staatsorchester Braunschweig as principal oboist in 2017/18, where he has since performed in numerous solo concerts and was awarded the “Förderpreis derStaatstheaterfreunde” in 2018.
In August 2021 Salomo Schweizer gave his debut recital at the Lucerne Festival.
