Born in 1993 in Lucerne, began his music career as a singer in the Luzerner Kantorei, before becoming a young student in Prof. Kurt Meiers oboe class at the Lucerne Music University at the age of 14.
Later he studied with Prof. Simon Fuchs (principal oboe of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich) and Prof. Martin Frutiger at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), as well as Prof. Dominik Wollenweber in Berlin and with Prof. Jean Louis Capezzali at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne.
Salomo Schweizer has won numerous awards at international competitions, including the 1 st prize at the oboe competition "Luca Figaroli" in Adara San Martini (IT) in 2012, the special award “cor anglaise” at the “the muri competition” in 2016 and the yearly price of the foundation “Junge Musiktalente” in Meggen (CH), supporting his artistic development in 2017/18.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Staatsorchester Hamburg, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Opera Berlin, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Hanover State Opera, the Chamber Orchestra of Munich and the Festival Strings Lucerne.
After a year as principal oboist in the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Salomo Schweizer joined the Staatsorchester Braunschweig as principal oboist in 2017/18, where he has since performed in numerous solo concerts and was awarded the “Förderpreis derStaatstheaterfreunde” in 2018.
In August 2021 Salomo Schweizer gave his debut recital at the Lucerne Festival.

Janet Rosen received her B.S. in Music Education from West Chester University. She
earned a Master of Music degree in oboe performance from The Hartt School,
University of Hartford, where she was a Concerto Competition winner.
An active performer, Janet has studied with some of the world’s premier oboists,
including Stevens Hewitt and Louis Rosenblatt of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Robert
Bloom of the NBC Symphony and Bach Aria Group, John Mack of the Cleveland
Orchestra and renowned soloist Humbert Lucarelli.
As a soloist, Janet has performed Copland’s Quiet City for solo English horn and
trumpet, Cimarosa, Mozart and Vaughn Williams Oboe concertos and the world
premiere of Joseph Russo’s Concerto for Flute and Oboe with the Nutmeg Symphony.
She is currently a member of the Norwalk, Greater Bridgeport and Waterbury
Symphonies. Internationally she has performed with the Rome and Bermuda Festival
Orchestras. An active free-lance performer, she performs regularly with Orchestra New
England, Greenwich Choral Society and other groups throughout Connecticut.
In the commercial arena, she has performed on stage with a Who’s Who in the music
business, including Sammy Davis, Ray Charles, Judy Collins, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea
Bocelli, Leann Rymes, Mannheim Steamroller, Johnny Mathis, Warren Haynes, Josh
Groban, Idena Menzell and many others. In June of 2009 she appeared on the TV show
“Better Connecticut”, hosted by Scott Haney, with a trio of musicians from Harmonia V
Quintet and the Nutmeg Symphony.
Janet has also been a part of many Broadway National tour productions at Hartford’s
Bushnell Theater, Shubert Theatre New Haven and Wallingford’s Toyota Oakdale
Theatre including, “Man of La Mancha”, Ragtime”, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and
Murder”, "Wicked" “Miss Saigon”, “The Sound of Music”, “Peter Pan, “Music of Andrew
Lloyd Webber”, “Jesus Christ Super Star”, ”South Pacific” and many others.
Her favorite and most rewarding type of performance is as a chamber musician. For
over 20 years Janet played hundreds of weddings with her group Trio Con Brio. She also
performed many educational concerts and recitals with Con Brio Woodwind Quintet.
She is a current and founding member of Harmonia V, a woodwind quintet dedicated to
performing music by contemporary and living composers. Her most recent project is
performing with Radio Klez, a Bridgeport-based Klezmer group.
Janet has been a music educator for over 30 years in public schools in CT, and presently
is a band director at Saxe Middle School in New Canaan, CT. She maintains a private
oboe studio of 10 students. In her spare moments, Janet enjoys gardening and creating
stained glass. She lives in Milford, CT with her musician husband, George Sanders and
coonhound “Beanie”.
